Booking Now: Fall & Winter 2026 Due Dates
Throughout my pregnancy I had a very anxious and negative outlook on how my body was changing and lacked confidence in what my body could do. Kayla's use of meditations and knowledge of laboring techniques eased my fears and allowed me to take control of my pregnancy. I found the confidence to have the unmedicated natural birth I wanted. She, my husband and my mom were all in the labor and delivery room with me and I couldn't have selected a greater team around me during that beautiful and spiritual process. Kayla was our guide, our friend and our advocate. We didn't just end up with a doula when we hired Kayla, we got a team mate. She's the only person we'd trust with our birthing experience again and again!

Hi, I'm Kayla — doula, birth educator, mother of three, and your steady presence in the birth room.
I've spent the last four years supporting families through pregnancy & birth, with more than 75 families served and over 55 births attended at Methodist Women's, Nebraska Medicine, CHI Health, and in homes across the Omaha area. I believe birth works best when solid evidence and a mother's own intuition are both honored — that's the heart of how I practice.
When I'm not at a birth, you'll find me outside with my kids & husband, or leading hikes with local mamas. I bring that same grounded, unhurried energy to every birth I attend: calm hands, real information, and total trust in you.
Areas served
If you are within an hour of Omaha, Nebraska - including Gretna, Elkhorn, Bellevue, Papillion, and Lincoln, yay! You’re in my service area. I attend births in all Omaha, Council Bluffs & Lincoln area hospitals.
Want to see if I have availability for your birth? I’d love to hear from you.
Complete the form below and I will reach out within 24 hours.
I’ll never forget one of her comments during my son’s birth… I was struggling and expressing uncertainty…she reminded me to “just trust your body.” It was a simple reminder but exactly what I needed to hear in that moment.

My packages vary depending on what your family needs — some moms want the full arc of prenatal visits, birth education, birth support, placenta encapsulation and postpartum follow-up, while others need something more focused.
I also believe every mom deserves support, regardless of budget. That's why I offer payment plans, quarterly scholarships, and partner with the Omaha Better Birth Project as a grant partner. If cost is a concern, please don't let it stop you from reaching out — let's find a way to make it work.
-
Not at all — I make your partner better at their job. Partners know you and love you; I know birth. When those two things work together, your partner isn't stuck guessing what to do or watching helplessly from the corner. I show them where to press, when to offer water, what's normal, and when to just hold your hand. Most partners tell me afterward they couldn't imagine having done it without that backup. You get two support people instead of one, each doing what they do best.
-
Absolutely. An epidural changes how you cope with contractions — it doesn't change your need for information, advocacy, and steady support. I help you navigate early labor at home, decide when to head to the hospital, understand your options as decisions come up, and stay grounded through the moments an epidural can't touch: the waiting, the unknowns, the pushing, the first hour with your baby. Some of my favorite births have been epidural births. Your birth doesn't have to look any particular way for you to deserve support.
-
Support starts long before your first contraction. In our prenatal visits, we'll talk through your hopes and worries, learn comfort techniques you and your partner can practice, walk through what labor actually looks and feels like, and build a birth plan rooted in evidence — not fear. My goal is that you walk into your birth informed, confident, and clear on your options, whatever path your labor takes.
-
No. Birth doesn't run on a schedule, and neither do I. Whether your labor is six hours or thirty-six, my fee stays the same — no hourly rates, no overtime, no watching the clock while you're working hard. Once you're my client, I'm yours for the whole journey.
-
Whenever you're ready — but earlier is better. Most families reach out in the second trimester, which gives us plenty of time for prenatal visits and building trust before the big day. That said, I've taken clients at 38 weeks and it's still made a real difference. If you're reading this and your due date is close, don't count yourself out — send me a message and we'll see if the timing works.
